Konnect xD 2024 — We Built It Together
2024 was the year Konnect xD grew from a promising concept into a live platform deployed across real projects. Here's a look back at what we built, who we built it with, and where we're heading next.
A Year of Building in the Open
2024 wasn't a year of announcements. It was a year of delivery. From the first beta deployments in Q1 to the production rollouts that closed the year, every milestone was earned project by project, alongside the teams who trusted us with their data.
When we started 2024, Konnect xD existed as a collection of promising modules running on pilot data. By December, it was processing live project information across five countries — tracking construction progress, connecting P&ID data to field execution, and replacing the spreadsheet workflows that have slowed EPC projects for decades.
Here's what we shipped.
Planning & Schedule Intelligence
The Planning module crossed from MVP to production-grade in Q2. We integrated Primavera P6 import, added DCMA schedule health analysis, and shipped the first version of Monte Carlo risk simulation. By Q3, the module was live on a 2,500-activity offshore platform project in Southeast Asia — flagging float erosion in real time and surfacing the critical path shifts that would have taken a planner two days to find manually.
The schedule intelligence engine now analyses over 500 historical EPC schedules as training data. Every new project benefits from patterns learned across previous ones.
Construction & Field Execution
The Construction module launched in beta in Q3. The core workflow — importing engineering deliverables, generating weld packages, tracking spool fabrication progress — went from whiteboard to working software in six months.
The early adopters gave us something more valuable than feedback: they gave us their real data. Weld maps, isometrics, QC hold records. The messiness of real construction execution. That data made the product better in ways that no amount of internal testing could.
Platform & Integrations
The Konnect xD platform layer — the shared foundation connecting all modules — got its biggest upgrade of the year in Q4. Role-based access control became granular enough for multi-contractor environments. The API layer was refactored to support the integration patterns that large EPC contractors require.
We shipped native connectors for AVEVA E3D, SmartPlant Foundation, and Aconex. The data handover workflow — the critical path from engineering completion to operations handover — finally has an automated lane.
The Team
We grew. Carefully and deliberately. Every hire was made with the same question: will this person make us better at solving the actual problem our clients face?
The answer, across every addition to the team this year, was yes.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Several capabilities that spent 2024 in stealth mode are ready to see the light. The P&ID Explorer. The Document Control module. The first pieces of the AI layer that will change how project intelligence actually works.
2025 is the year we move from platform to ecosystem. We're grateful to every project team, every pilot partner, and every early user who helped us get here.
